You can hide unused calendars in each app.
Follow the steps below to separate the calendars you use in Simple Calendar from the ones you use in the built-in Calendar app.
Show a calendar only in Simple Calendar
- Tap "Add/Edit Calendar" in the Simple Calendar settings
- Create a new calendar
- Under "Display Settings", hide the calendars you use in the built-in Calendar app
- In the built-in Calendar app, hide the calendars from Simple Calendar
Stop your events from appearing in the built-in Calendar app
If you don't want your events to show up in the built-in iOS Calendar app, you can remove that app from your device.
You can reinstall it from the App Store at any time.
Please note that this alone does not make your events private. They remain stored in your calendar account and can still be accessed by other means. To protect your data, lock your device with a passcode or Face ID and check which accounts and apps have access to your calendar.
By the way, when your events are synced with a calendar account such as iCloud, they become available again on your new device after a replacement — very convenient.
Depending on the calendar app, you might have to register accounts or restore backups yourself; with this app, that is usually not necessary.
